A fresh start for all
Back to school is like a new beginning for everyone, whatever their situation. It's an opportunity to get back into a certain rhythm, to get organized, to start new projects or to get back into the swing of things... All with a smile and motivation!
Schoolchildren and students meet up with their classmates, get to know the new ones, meet their teachers and familiarize themselves with their courses.Like the students, the workers refocus on their goals, plan their projects and get back on track.Artists reconnect with their material and return with a freer, more inspired spirit than ever before.
They all share a common need for a successful back-to-school: good organization.In my opinion, this is the most important point, because the summer allowed us to let go of some ballast and come back fresher, but without organization, what's the point? We'd be heading straight down the wrong path to stress, fatigue and overwork.To do this, there's no secret: you need to define your goals clearly and make sure they're achievable, divide the big goals into equally achievable sub-goals and draw up a schedule based on these. Of course, you shouldn't just jump in without thinking: it's the start of a new year, so you need to take your time to get back into a good rhythm, and not get demoralized or stressed right from the start.
And let's not forget that just because it's the start of a new school year doesn't mean we shouldn't think about ourselves or have a good time. Let's take part in events, discover new things,...
Back to work at Kath'Esquisse
As I was saying, back-to-school means a veil of freshness, for you and for others. But it's also a time to discover new things, new artists and their projects.
At Kath'Esquisse, back-to-school means more projects, more illustrations and more fun!
So, I'm going to tell you a little more about my next projects, both upcoming and in progress. I've got lots of ideas and I'd like to do lots of things, but it's not always easy and I don't want to spread myself too thinly or I'll get lost.
All this requires a bit of organization, as we mentioned earlier, and each project needs a certain amount of time to mature, so I'll tell you about that, but you should know that all this has taken me a lot of time so far and will take me at least as much again to complete.
Twitch Lives
So let's start with the first project. Twitch lives.Indeed, as some of you already know, since June, I've been doing regular lives on the Twitch platform, during which I mainly share my work with you. It was a sort of test phase until the end of July/beginning of August, to see if I'd like to do it, if you'd like it too, and if it didn't get in the way of my other projects.
In conclusion, I really appreciate this way of doing things, linking productivity to sharing with you in a simpler and more authentic way than what I've been doing up until now on networks like Instagram. This way of working allows me to move forward on my various projects whether for my clients or for Kath'Esquisse and to be able to connect much more easily with you, the people, who support me so much. ♥
I find it really interesting to be able to chat, work, get live feedback, have a laugh and, above all, be closer to you.So, the good news is that live shows will resume in the last week of August!To this end, I've set about creating a new overlay for you, entirely personalized and in my image, with illustrations created and animated by myself, which I'll let you discover directly on Twitch. I've also created and animated a PNG/GIFtuber model of myself. So you'll recognize me straight away, and there'll always be little things moving left and right to captivate you even more!
In addition, I'll be posting regular schedules on my various networks to let you know from one week to the next when I'll be live, so that you'll know a little more in advance, because I'm thinking of moving away from Wednesday afternoons, and my live shows will depend on my own schedule.
New on Youtube
In addition to Twitch lives, another one started at about the same time: my arrival on Youtube. And yes, I'm making available to you all the replays of my Twitch lives on Youtube since I started. And in September, a new format will make its appearance. Still focusing on my work, this format will showcase my illustrations in a more condensed way than the live replays. These videos will last between 10 and 15 minutes on average, and will summarize my work on a single illustration. In this way, you'll get an accelerated view of my work process, during which I'll be able to give you a few explanations, such as the theme of the illustration in question, constraints, obstacles, successes, etc.
New collection
The next project is a new collection for my boutique.The title of this collection has not yet been determined, and perhaps you can help me?
On the other hand, I've already worked on the background of the project, the theme is defined as well as the formats that will be offered for sale. It's worth noting that a lot of ideas have crossed my mind, so I've had to group and categorize them so that there's a certain coherence between the different illustrations. As a result, I'd like to propose something warm and cocoon-like, with a slightly wintry indoor feel. The theme will be more realistic than my previous collections, as it will be more focused on human characters, but also on slightly fuller backgrounds in some of the illustrations, but who knows, there might be a few little fantasies to discover hidden here and there? This collection should a priori consist of three posters and cards, plus three sticker sheets, if nothing changes between now and then.
For this collection, I'd love to offer you some really detailed illustrations with a certain level of decoration that I don't usually produce, although I love admiring this kind of work, but also stickers with more detail than those I've produced so far. Of course, we'll see what I can really produce.The boutique release is scheduled for the end of October, to give you something new for the festive season to come. And I intend to share with you the whole process of making each illustration live on Twitch throughout September, right up to the release of the complete collection. I'll also try to share as many WIPs as possible on networks like Instagram or Threads for those who can't follow this project live.
Store, conventions and markets
Apart from these three great projects, there's one more in the pipeline: to collaborate with a physical boutique, take part in conventions or participate in designer markets, so as to be able to offer you my illustrations and products directly. To tell you the truth, I've been working hard on this project since the beginning of the year, but nothing has gone as planned yet.
To tell you the story briefly, after a lot of research and study, I'd finally found a small boutique that looked like a really nice place to collaborate with this summer. However, they didn't tell me they were going to close and announced it to me barely 15 days after signing our contract. In the middle of summer, I found myself at a dead end, because it was too late to turn around and find something else this summer.
But I'm not giving up, and I want to try again this winter, either with a new, more honest boutique, or with conventions or designer markets, so I'm doing some new research with that in mind. I'll keep you posted on where and when as usual! In the meantime, the doors of my online store are always wide open to you and will remain so.
Conclusion
So here we are at the end of this little update on what's in store for us all this autumn. In short, we'll all have to do our best and keep smiling, motivated and organized to achieve our goals and be proud of ourselves, without forgetting ourselves.
